Monte Carlo Steak House in Albuquerque

Something has changed for the worse! We have dined hear regularly for a couple of years, and we always loved it. Excellent steaks, good salads, great shrimp, etc. This time the sirloins, the Rib Eye, and the Fillets were all tough! The shrimp were very poorly cooked. A Terrible contrast to other visits. Salads were still good, and the Ranch is great. But we come here mostly for the steaks. I'd guess a change for the worse in managers or meat sources or both.Don't know if we'll ever come back. We'll try Longhorn next time.

Stopped by Monte Carlo because it was on Guy's Diners Drive-ins and Dives...great dive atmosphere..terrific menu selections.. we had the porterhouse steak and the Louis special.. Good stuff! Glad we stopped by

I celebrated my graduation today in this fine place. Well we enjoyed a incredible evening and the restaurant was evidently the reason for this happy evening. The crew contributed in a splendid way, the cooking was tasty and my buddies were so happy. We shall surely return for more celebrations. thanks very much.

As I understand it, this place is owned by a Greek family. I ordered a Greek salad and it was very, not Greek. The next time there, I ordered a chef salad. It was nearly identical to the Greek salad. I've been there about four times and the story is the same.

Came to eat dinner with my wife and kids. We chose to top sirloin 1/2 pound and a 10 Oz. Sirloin. Burgers for the kids. Since it was late they had already ran out of prime rib and baked potato. We chose fries instead which are natural cut fries. The only issues we had was with the burger patty being burned but .they promptly made another one. If you are looking for amazing steak this is the place to go. Not to mention Guy from the food network ate here and said he would come back for meat balls since they serve spaghetti for lunch. The inside is nicely decorated with antiques giving it a vintage look. Family friendly and you can also enjoy some wine from the bar. Really friendly staff very attentive to all your needs. Check it out! You will not be disappointed.

The cooks there are so amazing. They cook your steak cooked to order perfect. The two young men deserve a tip and a thank you on your way out the door for a job well done!

Treated myself for a steak night yesterday, and I choose Monte Carlo to tryFood tastes made-to-order fresh and portion size of the meat is hugeGarden salads to start were simple yet delicious, prime rib cooked medium and pork chops were done perfectly and a solid baked potato to ensure you leave the place with a full stomach.Staff were very patient with my orders and very attentive to every details that I have given about my orders and I got my order correctlyI like the whole place, its such a quiet and relaxing that you will enjoy dining I will definitely recommend this Monte Carlo to all my relative that will visit the cityKudos! I like this steakhouse its an old fashion feel and taste that unfortunately is slowly going away.

Excellent food & fantastic service!! The salad dressing tasted house made. It's the best I've ever had. The steak was cooked exactly like I asked. My boyfriend's pork was a little undercooked, but the waitress had the kitchen fix it & brought him fresh fries with his pork chops cooked through. They were pretty good as well. I will definitely come back.

Amazing! Service was excellent and all the food was exactly as ordered. Steaks are definitely on par with the top steakhouses in the Nation. I would reccomend anyone who loves steak or chicken to check them out! You will not be disappointed. Also too, during the wait for a table, the servers offered complimentary fried mushrooms and onion rings. Just an overall amazing experience and i will definitely be headed back soon!

For over 30 years the Monte Carlo has served a mean steak. Other than steaks for lunch, you really have to try their Louie Special. Slices of beef with carmelized onions, green chili, smoothered with cheese and a generous portion of fries. Yum. I hope you folks get a chance to enjoy the Monte Carlo great for lunch and dinner. I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to eat here again. Someone in our party ordered "The Salmon". The server said "oh, the surf and turf." Our friend said "No the salmon". The server "how would you like that cooked?". Friend "medium?"... 15 minutes later, what do you know, they bring my friend... The surf and turf. And it didn't even have salmon, it had shrimp! Lol. So we corrected the server and said, no we said the salmon dinner. She proceeded to argue with us saying we ordered surf and turf... Nobody ever said surf and turf! We eventually got it corrected and the salmon was fine. But the server literally argued with us about what was said. Made little effort to give us a pleasant experience. Not the hugest deal, but it was Ash Wednesday and my friend didn't want red meat. My steak was alright.

Don't go there will refuse service if you don't have a mask. Didn't just happen to me another Ecolodge guest also was turned away. It's a long walk to get there 8 tenth of a mile. Two guys in the store not wearing masks. To stupid to have reusable masks for customers.

This is just a fun old school steakhouse! We were there fairly early on Friday night and the place was lively and fun. It's a very "come as your place". The rib-eye was fantastic and the prime-rib was good, needing a but more spice/flavor. The French fries were tasty, but under cooked. Our server, Marilyn, I think, was super friendly and efficient. If you're in Albuquerque, you should try Monte Carlo. Go for the rib-eye!!

I searched all over the city for an amazing steak. I heard about this place from asking people where to go so that i could take my boss when he came into town. At first, looking at it was not what i expected but that did not intimidate me. We stopped in and the host was very friendly and shared some conversation while we stood in the long line waiting to be seated. This was exciting, this place must be good! Only when I got my plate in front of me did I realize we had found an amazing dinner venue that I will be returning to. Enjoy the food, try the specials.

The very definition of a hole in the wall...behind a liquor store, in the land of Heisenberg. A Diners Drive Ins and Dives stop. Great cozy atmosphere inside. Terrific food and reasonable price. Call before you go to make sure they are open.

Ok...I'm really going to say what alot may not...my wrist hurts from cutting into a $28 cold piece of meat loaded with thick veins of gristle throughout. Only reason I'm going 2 stars is because the waitress was very nice. Wont go back.

The patio was nice but it was very hot on the westside of restaurant. Food was ok

This is one of the best restaurants in town. My wife and I don't go out for steak often but given the quality of their dishes and service that may change. Hands down one of the best meals we've had in a long time.

I only went in the liquor side and their solution for coronavirus is for them to get everything for you i told the nice man i needed triple sec, two limes, margarita salt, tequila, a bag of ice and a six pack of corona. He ran around the store for me and it cost me $38 for margs and beer for 4 people. 10/10 best liquor store experience of my life.

The steak and pork chops were cooked to perfection. The service was excellent.

First time here. Received amazing service and the charbroiled NY Strip was the best. Had the perfect amount of char and seasoning. Cooked as requested, which makes me love the first experience even more.

Perfectly nade made medium rare ribeye! This is my fave on the menu! Then next is that beautiful greek appetizer platter. Delicious flavors! Friday nights are super packed get there early!

wait was 45 minutes but it is small and cozy. We got a 14 oz boneless ribeye and the Louie special with green chili I wish I could’ve taken a picture the steak was perfectly cook hot fresh and juicy. The Louie special is a delicious amount of tasty steak you have to add their amazing hot green chili the server was amazing didn’t get her name but will definitely remember her for next time.

You looking for one of the best steakhouses in the area, let's just say this is the choice for locals. Reasonable prices for mouth watering arrest of many choices. Steaks we're done perfectly, service was great. Ambiance cannot be beat. Felt like home. The owner, George, is the most genuine person; we will be coming back thanks to his warmth.

Awesome. This place is a genuine steak experience, in a no frills, old fashion diner tucked behind a packaged liquor store off old Route 66. The steak was among the most tender I have had. Delicious.

We went a little early (4pm) and it was a good thing, the place was packed due to a couple of large parties. Still, we didn't have to wait that long for a table. The wait staff was attentive, especially Maria. The dinner was great, just the basics, salad, steak (ribeye - we were a little too early for prime rib) baked potato and beer (Cumbres IPA). Everything was done perfectly and delicious.

The service here is fantastic! The steaks are great, however.......here are the negatives. For being a steakhouse, I thought the steak fingers would be made with real steak, but they came from a box. The shrimp was dry and overcooked, the French fries were undercooked, and the fried zucchini was burnt. We hadn't been here in years, so this was quite a disappointment. Hopefully this review will be read and some changes will be made.

My meal was good! Beer selection was a little weak!!,waitress not knowledgeable about what drinks you carry!? And no draft on tap!!

The atmosphere is amazing. A small old school liquor shop that decided to add a kitchen... fast forward 50 years and change nothing- boom here you go. The steaks are great the prices are low and the people are friendly. Best alcohol prices I've seen in town. Check bbn it out.

Now this is the place you want to go eat a steak! Perfect old school, no thrills steak house that knows how to properly cook your steak, and char grilled to perfection 👌🏻 Located on the back of a package store and totally unsuspecting if your not local. We really enjoyed it and everyone at our table said their steak was delicious. Our waitress was super friendly and nice, and very informative when I asked her about the menu items that I did not realize were featured on the show DDD.

Food was great service was right on point even with it being rush our. Atmosphere was dark and a bit nostalgic. A bit loud for my taste but overall would recommend.

This place was a surprise. I read the reviews and felt compelled to check out the steakhouse hidden in a liquor store. When I parked here I thought twice about going in based on the appearance but I am most certainly glad that I did. You will literally walk through a liquor store to a non-descript opening in the corner that will lead you to the amazing smells of meat grilling. Once I sat myself, I was promptly greeted by a server who was very attentive and quickly took my order. I requested the 14 once ribeye and the loaded baked potato. It was quite wonderful and reasonably priced as well. I would honestly say that for it's price point this is the best steak I've ever had anywhere in this country and I travel quite a bit. The whole experience is only made better by the fact that you feel as if you were part of some secret club because of the setting. I will definitely repeat the experience.

Food and service was good, but outdoor seating with flies isn’t good.

Salad was minimal, mainly lettuce. Steak, their sirloin was tasty and tough but the baked potato was great. Overpriced for the quality they offer. I would not bring my date here. Cool ambiance though and good service
